Abstract

Abstract: Traditional epistemology treats ignorance as a deficit to be corrected. In contrast, the Architecture of Ignorance frames unknowing as structured, dynamic, and generative. Across cognitive, technological, and social systems, ignorance functions as a scaffold for emergent knowledge and adaptive behavior. This work introduces a formal model in which structured ignorance (Ut) recursively informs knowledge growth through a mapping function f(Ut), bridging philosophy, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence.
